Schumacher Homes, based in Canton, OH, was recently voted best home builder and best employer in the Canton Repository‘s Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Canton Repository’s Readers’ Choice Awards identifies its readers’ choices as the best businesses, organizations, and people in its coverage area of Stark County, Ohio.
“We’re honored to receive these two important awards from our hometown community of Canton,” said Mary Schumacher Becker, vice president of sales and marketing for Schumacher Homes in a press release. “The Canton Repository, as our local newspaper, has been a wonderful supporter of Schumacher Homes, from our earliest days. We are thankful to both the newspaper and its loyal readers for these awards.”
Laura Good, director of human resources for Schumacher Homes, said in the same release that the Schumacher family deserves the Best Employer award.
“Our employees stay committed to Schumacher Homes, some for more than 20 years,” said Good. “We’re treated like family. You can’t beat that feeling of being listened to, understood, and encouraged.”
Schumacher Homes has operations in 32 markets in 14 states across the country. It has built more 14,000 homes since its founding by Paul Schumacher in 1992. The company says it’s the largest custom home builder in the country.
